Dr. Steven Y. Luo is a California Board licensed cosmetic and general dentist. He graduated from UC San Diego and did his dental training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1997 in Boston, MA. He also performed a one year hospital-based dental residency program at the Sepulveda VA Hospital in Los Angeles in 1998.
Dr. Luo annually participates in three times the required continuing education. He and his exceptional dental team have over 90 years of cumulative experience.

Dr. Luo was fortunate enough to be selected as one of only 25 sites in the U.S. to participate in a clinical study sponsored by Novalar Pharmaceuticals, Inc. The study was performed to help find an alternative to lingering numbness caused by local anesthetics after a dental procedure. As part of the study, Dr. Luo worked as a principal investigator and researched the effects of a new drug called OraVerse, a local anesthetic reversal agent which can help accelerate the return of normal sensation after a dental procedure. OraVerse was recently approved by the FDA and Dr. Luo feels very fortunate for being able to contribute to the research of this revolutionary product.
 
He has a deep respect and love of the area. He is a San Diego native and proud to serve Imperial Beach and all of San Diego County with comprehensive, high quality dentistry in a uniquely caring environment.
